Before he heads out to Europe, Mark has 2 shows in New York. The first is at Arlene’s Grocery on 18 August. After that is 9 September at Tribeca Cinemas for Mark Geary & The Best of Irish Shorts. This, hosted by Craic Fest, will feature a screening of award winning shorts selected from the Galway Film Fleadh, Tribeca Film Festival and Sundance as well as an afterparty with a DJ & drinks. Come on out, bring your friends!
Then it’s off to Europe in September and October for 6 dates with Glen Hansard in Austria, Germany, Spain and Ireland. Seeing these guys together will be a treat for anyone who is lucky enough to get tickets. We’ll try to keep you abreast of ticket sales, but keep an eye on www.theframes.ie or www.theswellseason.com for information as well!
Best of all, Mark will be headlining The Workman’s Club in Dublin on 21 October. These Ireland dates are the first Mark’s had there in almost 2 years so he’s beyond excited to come home and play for you! Fiach will be supporting this gig that starts at 8pm. Tickets available now through Ticketmaster.ie.
No wait, another best of all! In the middle of all of this, Mark is doing all those things he needs to do to finish up his 4th studio album, called ‘songs about love, songs about leaving‘, tentatively due out before the end of 2011. We’ll have all the info for you here as it becomes apparent.
Thanks everyone, much love!
